Zebra follows Leslie and Isabel, two people who have been together for so long that somewhere along the way, they forgot how to love each other. Leslie retreats inward, while Isabel searches elsewhere for the feeling of being seen.

From the director

I made Zebra out of a feeling that my generation is learning how to achieve and adapt faster than we are learning how to love.

The zebra became a way for me to hold that feeling: displaced, marked by the world it has moved through, never quite belonging anywhere.

When everything around us keeps changing, can we still learn to see the people closest to us?

After losing someone dear, a young woman gives up dancing and moves from the city to the suburbs. She tries to move through a life shaped by performance, control, and absence.

To me, ballet holds a contradiction I deeply relate to: it is elegant and disciplined, but also fragile, punishing, and built around the demand to appear effortless. It became a way to visualize the tension between control and collapse, beauty and pain, performance and emptiness. What happens when the ways we learn to survive begin to consume us—and is there still a way to return to ourselves?
